Earle looked as if they were going to score on their first possession driving inside the Indians one-yard line before a bad snap on fourth down sailed over the quarterback's head and was recovered by Ricky Harmon at the Marked Tree 13-yard line with 7:38 left. The Indians gave the ball right back to Earle as a Marked Tree bad snap was recovered by Earle on the Indians 29-yard line. Marked Tree forced a turnover on downs getting the ball on their own 44-yard line. Daniels fumbled the snap a few plays later with the Bulldogs recovering. Earle took advantage of the turnover driving down into Marked Tree territory before Gerry Bohanon hit Dontrell Johnson with a 17 yard touchdown pass to make it 6-0. The two-point try was no good leaving the score 6-0 Earle. Marked Tree started their next drive on their own 17-yard and was driving when the quarter ended.
