Bay (9-2) had four Lady Yellowjackets score in double digits as they beat Manila 76-37 last Thursday night. Katie Ferguson led the way with 15 points, Whitlee Layne finished with 14 points, Sarah Blackman netted 13 points and Mallory Hartley chipped in 11 points. Bay won the junior high game 33-23.
Bay beat Brookland 45-39 this past Friday behind 13 points from Tyler Pritchett. Jonathan Crain chipped in eight points for the Yellowjackets. The Junior Yellowjackets (7-2) lost 51-46 as Dax Gibson scored 18 points and Layne Austin finished with 13 points.
Nick Andrews scored 15 points for Marked Tree as they downed Rector 68-45 this past Friday. LaQuentin Miles (11) and D'Angelo Griffin (10) also scored in double figures for the Indians. Marked Tree's junior boys also posted a 47-25 win.
Harrisburg (2-1) beat Palestine-Wheatley 58-37 this past Friday. The Hornet led 11-3 after one, 27-17 at halftime and 44-32 after three. Gatlin Greeno scored 14 points to lead Harrisburg as Zach Biggers netted 10 points for the Hornets. The Junior Hornets got 10 points from Caleb Neal but it wasn't enough as they lost 38-33.
Kevonte Andrews scored 24 points and Alex Dunham 10 points as the Trumann Wildcats (1-1) beat Hoxie 71-49 in boys high school basketball this past Monday. The Junior Wildcats also won by a score of 51-16.
Harrisburg's Lady Hornets (4-2) beat Newport 63-44 in senior girls basketball action this past Monday. Keely Edwards led Harrisburg with 16 points as Emily Armstrong scored 15 points and Jessica Webb netted 13 points for the Lady Hornets. The Junior Lady Hornets won their game 39-16.
