Lady Warriors win on the road at Marked Tree
EPC and conference and county rival Marked Tree met in girls' basketball action this past Monday in Marked Tree. The Lady Warriors jumped out early and never looked back in posting a 57-33 win over the Lady Indians.
Krystan Vornes scored for first four points of the game with a bucket off an offensive rebound and two free throws. Brandice Nesby cut the lead to 4-2 with two free throws for Marked Tree. The Lady Warriors scored the next eight points with Markiya Ward hitting a base line jumper, Vornes was good on a jumper, Jaleigha Garrett scored inside followed by an inside basket from Ward to make the score 12-2 EPC. Lady Indian Tullia Tull hit two free throws and EPC's Becca Bishop answered with a steal and lay up making it 14-4 Lady Warriors. Garrett and Marked Tree's Jayla Carter exchanged lay ups and Garrett scored off an offensive rebound to make the score 18-6 EPC at the end of one.
