Christmas parade dates set

Poinsett County Christmas parades begin this week.

First up is Tyronza's, which is set for 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 4. The theme for the parade is "An Animated Christmas." Lineup begins at 5:30 p.m. on the service road by the gas station. Cookies with Santa will follow at the Tyronza Senior Center.

Saturday, Dec. 5, will feature two parades: Harrisburg's and Marked Tree's. Harrisburg's parade begins at 4 p.m. The theme is "Spirit of Volunteering." The parade will begin at the county courthouse and end at the Harrisburg High School Fine Arts Building. Prizes will be given for best floats. Mark Weston will serve as Grand Marshal. Marked Tree's parade will be at 5:30 p.m. Lineup begins at 5 p.m. by First Delta Bank. This year's theme is "God Bless America." Col. Clarence Overbay will serve as Grand Marshal. Pictures with Santa Claus will follow at the Marked Tree Fire Department.

Next week on Thursday, Dec. 10, Trumann will have their parade at 6 p.m. Lineup will begin in the Price Chopper Chopper parking lot on Highway 463 North at 5:15 p.m. The parade will head south down 463, turn onto West Main Street, and continue to the Community House. The theme for the parade is "The Meaning of Christmas." Ronnie Harrison will be the Grand Marshal.

Lepanto's parade will be at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12. Lineup begins at 5:15 p.m. at the Painted House. The Grand Marshals will be Larry and Ann Deeds. Prizes will be given for the best floats.
