Harrisburg gave themselves a chance to win but a turnover with less than ten seconds left let Cave City escape with a 47-45 4A-3 conference win this past Monday night in Harrisburg.

Cave City scored the first points of the game almost three minutes into the first quarter by hitting one of two free throws for a 1-0 lead. The Hornets got a running jumper in the lane from Gatlin Greeno and a basket inside from Dylan Mathis to give Harrisburg a 4-1 lead. The Cavemen scored inside to cut the lead to 4-3 before Greeno canned the first of his five three pointers on the night making the score 7-3 Hornets. Cave City scored inside and then converted a conventional three-point play to take a 8-7 lead with 1:34 left. A steal and lay up from Cave City made it 10-7 only to see Walker Hammond score of an offensive rebound at the buzzer to make it 10-9 after one.
