Area athletes garner post-season awards
Several players from Poinsett County have been selected all-conference or all-state in sports that have recently ended. Players from football, volleyball golf and tennis were honored.
Trumann had eight players honored for their achievements. In football, Connor Haag, Mario Sifuentes, Trey Moody, Garrett Woods and Cade Gartman were selected to the 4A-3 all-conference team. Taelor Gartman and Hannah Wood were selected all-conference in volleyball with Hunter Montgomery being selected all-state in golf.
Harrisburg had sisters Keely and Abby Edwards, who were the Class 4A state runner-ups, make the all-state tennis team. Walker Hammond and Malik Versie were selected to the 4A-3 all-conference team in football.
Marked Tree's D'Angelo Griffin, Jaylon Gunn, Blake Daniels, Jake Ellis and Jerome Shackleford were selected for the 2A-3 all-conference team in football with Griffin also being tabbed for the Class 2A all-state team in football.
Kurstin Bryan of EPC was chosen for the Class 2A all-state tennis team. Clay Malone and Kyler Gordon were chosen for the 2A-3 all-conference team in football.
