Lady Wildcats top Manila at NEA Invitational Tournament

Trumann (5-6) had three players score in double digits as the Lady Wildcats downed the Lady Lions 53-43 in their opening round game of the girls Division II bracket.

Kelcie Roland scored Trumann's first bucket giving the Lady Wildcats an early 2-0 lead. Taylor Harmon tied it at 2 with a put back off an offensive rebound only to see Roland hit a base line jumper for the Lady Wildcats to making it 4-2 Trumann. Hanna Teage tied it at 4 with a jumper before Taelor Gartman scored inside and Lexi Jackson canned a three-pointer for the Lady Wildcats to make the score 9-4 Trumann. Teague scored inside for Manila only to see Jackson hit another three-pointer for for Trumann to make it 12-6 Lady Wildcats with 1:36 left in the quarter. Harmon hit back to back jumpers for the Lady Lions to make the score 12-10 Trumann as the first quarter ended.
