Trumann ousted in NEA tourney

Trumann (2-6) led 4-2 early but Walnut Ridge (9-1) went on an 18-0 run and never looked back as the Bobcats posted a 68-54 in the boys' Division II bracket of the NEA Invitational Tournament in Jonesboro.

Kelon Booker scored inside for Trumann to open the game as Kenzie Flippo answered for Walnut Ridge to make it 2-2. Kevonte Andrews scored inside to make it 4-2 before the Bobcats scored the next 18 points to go up 20-4 with 1:34 left. Spencer Wilson scored the first five points hitting three of four free throws before scoring down low. Luke Wall converted a conventional three-point play followed by Kyle Nunley hitting a three-pointer and four straight free throws. Connor Haag stopped the Walnut Ridge run with a three-pointer from the top of the key and Alex Dunham scored inside to make it 20-9 Bobcats as the first quarter ended.
