EPC beats Marked Tree to advance to title game
EPC (9-4) held on for a 57-54 win over conference rival Marked Tree (9-4) this past Tuesday in semi-finals of the NEA Invitational Tournament. The win gives the Warriors a chance to defend their title.
J'Sebian Brown got an easy lay up off the tip ball for a 2-0 EPC lead before D'Angelo Griffin canned a three-pointer for Marked Tree to make it 3-2 Indians. Brown converted an old-fashioned three-point play for EPC to make it 5-2 Warriors only to see Marked Tree reel off the next 12 points to take a 14-5 lead after one. Colby Malone hit a runner in lane, Griffin hit a jumper, LaQuentin Miles scored off the fast break, Griffin canned another three-pointer and Miles went high for a one-hand dunk.
