Lady Warriors fall to ICC in NEA semi-finals

EPC (11-5) couldn't slow down the Izard County Consolidated (ICC) transition game as the Lady Cougars (18-4) downed the Lady Warriors 62-46 in Division I play of the NEA Invitational Tournament this past Tueday.

Krystan Vornes, who led EPC with 15 points, got the Lady Warriors on the board first with a basket inside for their only lead of the game at 2-0. ICC reeled off the next six points with Sam King hitting two free throws, Kennedy Cooper scoring inside and Sam King adding a basket inside to make it 6-2 ICC. Becca Bishop hit a running jumper in the lane for EPC making it 6-4 only to see Cooper score the next seven points with a basket inside followed by one of two free throws and then two more baskets inside to make it 13-4 Lady Cougars with 2:34 left. Markiya Ward hit a jumper in the lane for EPC before ICC got back to back baskets from Sam King and Cooper to make it 17-6 ICC. Madison Wiggins connected on a jumper making the score 17-8 Lady Cougars after one quarter of play.
