Lady Hornets lose thriller to Melbourne

Harrisburg (8-3) took a six point lead into the final quarter of their Division II NEA Invitational Tournament game with Melbourne (12-1). The Lady Bearkatz held the Lady Hornets to seven points in the fourth quarter as they posted a 46-43 win.

Kylie DeVries hit a three-pointer from the top of the key to open the game and give Harrisburg a 3-0. Keely Curtis was fouled and hit one two free throws to push the lead to 4-0. Natalie Woolsey got Melbourne on the board with with a jumper in the lane and Emily Gardner followed with a basket inside to give the Lady Bearkatz a 4-3 lead. DeVries canned another three-pointer for Harrisburg making it 7-4 Lady Hornets before Gardner and Charlee Byram hit two free throws each for Melbourne to make the score 8-7 Melbourne. Emily Armstrong hit two free throws after being fouled only to see Woolsey score inside making it 10-9 Lady Bearkatz. Keely Edwards and Hannah Anderson traded inside baskets to make the score 12-11 Melbourne after the first quarter.
