Brown's three-pointer at buzzer stings Wildcats

Harrisburg's Walker Brown drilled a three-pointer from right corner as time expired to give the Hornets a 41-38 win over Trumann (4-9, 1-4) in 4A-3 conference basketball action this past Monday night in Harrisburg.

The Hornets jumped out to an early 4-0 lead as Malik Versie scored on an alley oop lay up and Dylan Mathis got a steal and lay up. The Wildcats answered back with a jumper in the lane from Connor Haag and a three-pointer from the top of the key from Murphy Taber to give the Wildcats a 5-4 lead. Walker Hammond scored inside for Harrisburg making it 6-5 Hornets before Jay Jones hit a jumper in the lane to give Trumann a 7-6 lead with 2:26 left in the quarter. Walker Brown converted an old-school three-point play and Mathis went coast to coast for a lay up to give the Hornets a 11-7 lead after one quarter of play.
