Harrisburg (7-11, 0-4 4A-3) lost a tough game in overtime last Thursday night to Gosnell. The Pirates shut out the Hornets in the overtime period to take a 50-42 win. Walker Hammond led Harrisburg with 17 points and 10 rebounds. The Junior Hornets also lost 50-12.

Marked Tree (14-4) got a big night from LaQuentin Miles as the Indians posted a 59-45 win over Cross County this past Friday. Miles finished with 17 points, eight assists and seven steals. D'Angelo Griffin scored 13 points and Markel Perry tossed in 11 points and pulled down 13 rebounds. Marked Tree also won the junior high game 41-20.

Xzavier Reed scored 17 points to lead four players in double figures as the EPC Warriors (11-6, 6-2 2A-3) beat CRA 81-34 this past Friday in boys' high school basketball. J'Sebian Brown added 14 points, Clay Malone netted 13 points and Isaiah Taylor finished with 12 points. The Junior Warriors (7-2, 7-1) won the junior high game 47-17.

Trumann lost 65-57 to Tuckerman this past Friday in the semi-finals of the Kell Classic being held in Swifton. Aaron Hamilton canned five three-points in scoring 15 points to lead Trumann. Kelon Booker and Jay Jones each added 12 points for the Wildcats.

The Bay Lady Yellowjackets went 3-0 over three days to win the Liberty Invitational Tournament that was held in Mountain View, MO this past weekend. In the opening game Bay defeated Eminence, MO 62-56 as Whitlee Layne netted 31 points and Mallory Hartley added 12 points. Bay came back on day two and downed Liberty, MO 64-44 behind 27 points from Layne. Katie Ferguson tossed in 13 points as Hartley finished with 11 points. Bay faced Alton, MO in the championship and took home the trophy with a 75-51 win. SCORING. Layne, Ferguson and Hartley were all named to the all-tournament with Layne winning MVP honors.

Colby Malone scored 17 points to lead Marked Tree (13-4) over Rector 60-47 in high school basketball action this past Tuesday night. LaQuentin Miles added 13 points and Nick Andrews grabbed 14 rebounds for the Indians. The Junior Indians also won their game 57-40.

EPC (12-6, 7-2 2A-3) got 26 points from J'Sebian Brown as the Warriors beat Cross County 56-49 this past Tuesday night in conference action. Keyon Dorsey tossed in 10 points for EPC. The Junior Warriors got 21 points from Jay Gilmore in their 35-26 win.

Kylie DeVries scored 24 points as Harrisburg (12-6, 4-2 4A-3) downed Gosnell 57-28 this past Tuesday at Gosnell. Keely Edwards filled the stat book with 14 points, eight rebound and eight assists as Abby Edwards added 10 points for the Lady Hornets. Gosnell won the junior high game 32-30.

Bay's Lady Yellowjackets (25-3, 4-0 1A-3) had five players hit double figures in scoring as they routed Armorel 74-24 this past Tuesday night. Layne led the way with 18 points, Ferguson and Abby Frisby each scored 14 points as Sarah Blackman and Hartley each tossed in 12 points. Tot Diaz scored 12 points as the Junior Lady Yellowjackets won 37-13.

Several players garnered all-tournament selections for their play in NEA Invitational and the Kell Classic. On the girls side, Taelor Gartman of Trumann made the All-NEA Division II team as EPC's Jaleigha Garrett and Krystan Vornes along with Bay's Whitlee Layne, Katie Ferguson and Mallory Hartley made the Division I All-NEA team. For the boys, Marked Tree's Nick Andrews and D'Angelo Griffin and Bay's Jonathan Crain, Taylor Layne and Tyler Pritchett made the All-NEA Division I team.

At the Kell Classic, Harrisburg's Emily Armstrong, Kylie DeVries, Keely Edwards and Jessica Webb made the All-Kell girls team as Trumann's Murphy Taber and Kelon Booker made the All-Kell boys' team.
