Lady Warriors down Marked Tree in conference clash

EPC (14-5, 8-1 2A-3) had three players score in double figures as the Lady Warriors took a 61-24 conference with from Marked Tree this past Thursday in Lepanto.

Jaleigha Garrett, who finished with a game high 17 points, opened the scoring with a three-pointer from the right wing and followed with a jumper in the lane giving EPC an early 5-0 lead. Krystan Vornes hit one of two free throws before Jayla Carter went the length of the floor for a Marked Tree lay up to make the score 6-2 EPC with 2:10 left in the quarter. Vornes scored for EPC off an offensive rebound and Brandice Nesby scored off the fast break for Marked Tree making the score 8-4 Lady Warriors. Garrett was fouled attempting a three-pointer as the quarter ended and made two of three free throws to give EPC a 10-6 lead after one.
