Junior Indians fall in district title game

Marked Tree (13-9) fell behind early and could never recover as Earle (25-1) rolled to a 64-34 win this past Saturday in the 2A-3 junior district championship game in Lepanto.

Earle jumped out to a 7-0 lead as Justin Brown hit a jumper, Darius Cisero scored off an offensive rebound and followed by hitting one of two free throws as Leandre Milow added two free throws for the Junior Bulldogs. Tray Brown hit a three-pointer for Marked Tree to make it 7-3 as Cisero answered with a three-pointer for Earle making it 10-3. Tray Brown canned another pointer to make the score 10-6 Junior Bulldogs only to see Earle get a three-ball from Kevaughn Smith followed by a stick back from Cisero and one of two free throws from Cisero to make the score 16-6 Earle with 1:32 left. Tray Brown canned his third three-pointer of the quarter to make it 16-9 Earle as Milow stuck back an offensive rebound for the Junior Bulldogs to make it 18-9 at the end of one.
