Lady Indians fall in tournament opener to Westside

Marked Tree gave up six runs in the top of the seventh as the Lady Warriors took an 8-3 win in the opening round of the Bearcat Blast red division tournament this past Friday in Jonesboro.

Westside got a one out walk in the top of the first before Harley Daniels struck out the next two batters. The Lady Indians didn't fare much better in the bottom of the first inning as Ally Byers struck out, Brittany Pharis grounded out and Daniels struck out to keep the score 0-0. The Lady Warriors got a hit batsman for their only runner in the top the second inning but left her stranded. Madison Carroll popped out for Marked Tree to start the bottom half of the second inning before Kayli Walker singled. Bailey Dunn reached on a fielder's choice forcing Walker at second as Taylor Hannah struck out to end the inning with the score still 0-0 after two.
