Lady Hornets fall in semi-finals to Trumann

Harrisburg could muster only two hits and one run off Lady Wildcat Lexi Jackson as Harrisburg lost 5-1 in the semi-finals of the Bearcat Blast red division tournament this past Saturday at Southside Softball Complex in Jonesboro.

Harrisburg got on the board first with a run in the bottom of the first. Jessica Webb stuck out to start the game as Keely Edwards grounded out for two quick outs. Jehlian Wright reached on an error before going to second on a wild pitch. Melanie Jackson singled to bring home Wright making it 1-0 Harrisburg. Melanie Jackson was picked off first to end the top half of the inning. Lexi Jackson singled for Trumann and went to third when the outfielder misplayed the ball. Olivia Greenwell reached on an error that allowed Jackson to score making it 1-1. Taelor Gartman singled to put runners on corner before Gartman advanced to second on a wild pitch. Hannah Wood plated Greenwell with a sacrifice fly to make it 2-1 Trumann as Gartman also tagged and went to third. Daly Taylor's sacrifice fly scored Gartman to give the Lady Wildcats a 3-1 lead. Kendall Pruitt was hit by a pitch before being thrown out trying to reach third on Hannah Craig's single for the third out.
