Lady Wildcats take Bearcat Blast championship

Trumann finished their run through the red division of the Bearcat Blast with a 7-1 win over conference foe Westside to capture the championship trophy this past Saturday in Jonesboro. Trumann only allowed two runs in their four wins.

Lexi Jackson grounded out to start the game for Trumann as Olivia Greenwell got an infield single. Taelor Gartman fielder's choice forced Greenwell out at second. Gartman stole second base but was left stranded when Hannah Wood popped out. Westside got two runners on with one out before Hannah Craig got a strikeout and ground out to end the first inning with the score 0-0. Daly Taylor grounded out to start the second inning before Kendall Pruitt doubled for the Lady Wildcats. Craig flew out and Maddi Payne grounded out to leave Pruitt on base. The Lady Warriors got a runner to third base only to leave her there as the scored stayed 0-0 after two innings.
