Lady Hornets lose twin bill to Brookland
Harrisburg fell behind early and could never catch up as they fell 17-2 to Brookland in the first game of a doubleheader this past Tuesday in Brookland. The Lady Bearcats took the nightcap 10-3.
Jessica Webb was caught looking at strike three to start the game for Harrisburg as Keely Edwards followed with a fly out. Jehlian Wright collected a two-out single only to be left on base as Lacey Lambright struck out for out three. Brookland plated four runs in the bottom of the first to take a 4-0 lead. Caitlyn Adams walked leading off the top of the second inning for the Lady Hornets and was safe at second as Sidney McMullin reached on a fielder's choice. Jayden Roark struck out and Abby Edwards popped out. Adams scored on a passed ball to make it 4-1 Brookland before Ansley Wixson was hit by a pitch. Webb walked to load the bases only to see Keely Edwards strike out to end the scoring threat. Brookland plated three more runs in the bottom of the second inning to make the score 7-1 Lady Bearcats.
