Simmons set the side down in order in the top of the first and the Indians' offense gave him all the runs he'd need in the bottom half of the inning. Aaron Hutchens walked to start thing off as Gavin Lowry popped out. Blake Daniels singled sending Hutchens to third before Simmons stuck out for the second out. Ricky Harmon singled to score Hutchens making it 1-0. Daniels and Harmon pulled off a double steal before Daniels scored on a passed ball to make the score 2-0 Indians. Nick Kinney drew a two-walk putting runners on the corners as Harmon would come home on a wild pitch to make it 3-0 Marked Tree. Bailey Lucas struck out ending the first inning.
