TRUMANN - Mrs. Lucille Robbins McCarty-Greer passed away peacefully, Thursday, October 6, 2016, at St. Bernard's Medical Center at the age of 94. She was born March 11, 1922 to R.V. and Lela Robbins in Savannah, Tenn. She moved with her family to Trumann at a very young age and had lived in Trumann most of her life. She was married to Ernest McCarty for 43 years until his death in 1980. In 1997, she married John H. Greer. Her entire working career was with United Telephone Company, where she began as a telephone operator and advanced to District Office Manager. From that position, she was promoted to Southeast Office Supervisor and traveled extensively in that position until her retirement at age of 55. Her hobby was quilting with the ladies at Lake City United Methodist Church. She drove from Trumann to Lake City every Tuesday until the age of 91. She lived a very active and productive life. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; two sisters, Jane Marvel and Patsy Marvel and son-in-law, Gerald Cunningham.
She is survived by three daughters, Sarah Jacobs (Brent) of Trumann, Linda Cunningham of Memphis, Mary Lee Loggins (Larry) of Trumann; three grandsons, Tracy Loggins (Penny), Chad Cunningham (Christy), Dr. Heath Cunningham (Michelle); one sister, Faye Swanner; six great-grandchildren, Taylor, Cody, Julia, McKinley, Campbell, and Cord and one great-great--granddaughter, Macy. She was a member of Lake City United Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 8, 2016 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Reed and Rev. Larry Loggins officiating. Burial followed at Oaklawn Cemetery.
The family request that in lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Lake City United Methodist Church, Lake City, AR or Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Trumann, AR.
