Bay (4-2, 1-1 conference) fell behind in the second quarter and could never catch as Armorel posted a 74-58 win this past Monday in Armorel. After a 12-12 first quarter, Bay was down 28-15 at the half and 49-26 after three quarters of play. Taylor Layne led Bay with 23 points as Dustin Utley finished with 18 points. In the junior high contest, Bay (5-1, 2-0) got 13 points from Paiton Hartley and ten points from Trenton Becker as they downed Armorel 49-10.
Marked Tree (6-4, 3-3 2A-3) couldn't hold on to a 14-12 halftime lead as Cross County scored a touchdown in the third quarter on their way to an 18-14 win over the Indians. With the loss, Marked Tree will be the fourth seed in the conference and will travel to Moutainburg Friday for a first round game in the Class 2A state playoffs. Paul Coleman led the Marked Tree offense with 110 yards rushing a touchdown followed by Braidin Hall with 31 yards rushing. Jack Brown completed six of nine passes for 92 yards and had a touchdown rushing. Kentarius Allen caught three passes for 38 yards and Coleman had two catches for 34 yards. Kylen Johnson and Chase Tilley each had seven tackles to lead the defense as Justin Ellis added six tackles. Colby Malone had an interception for the Indians.
Harrisburg (0-10, 0-7 4A-3) lost their season finale to Gosnell 52-0 this past Friday night at Hornet Stadium. Request for stats was not returned to the PCDT at press time.
