Dumas received the ball first after Trumann deferred to the second half and promptly put together a 74 yard touchdown drive ending in a short run for the score to take a 6-0 lead. The extra-point was wide left with 7:40 left. Cade Gartman returned the kick-off out to the Trumann 47-yard for Trumann's first possession. Trumann moved the ball to the Dumas 48-yard line before trying to get the Bobcats to jump offsides on fourth and five. Jay Morgan came on to punt for the Wildcats with the ball being downed at the Dumas 16-yard line with 5:57 left. Trumann forced Dumas to punt as the snap went over the punters' head and into the end zone where the punter kicked the ball out of the end zone for a Trumann safety making it 6-2 with 2:47 left. Dumas kicked off from their own 10-yard line after a penalty was marked off for illegal touching of the ball on the punt. Gartman returned the short punt to the Dumas 15-yard line with 2:37 left. Gartman carried the ball to the one-yard line before Garrett Woods sneaked it in from a yard out to make the score 8-6. Will White added the extra-point making it 9-6 with 1:06 left. Dumas made Trumann re-kick after the ball went out of bounds only to see the Wildcats try an onside kick that the Bobcats recovered at the Trumann 43-yard line. The quarter came to an end during the Dumas drive.

Dumas completed a pass on third down to start the second quarter before the ball was jarred loose with Jay Morgan returning the fumble to the Trumann 42-yard line. An unsportsmanlike conduct call on Trumann after the play moved the ball back to the 27-yard line. Trumann was forced to punt from their own 18-yard line a few plays later with Morgans' punt being downed at the Wildcats' 40-yard line with 9:17 left and the score still 9-6 Trumann. The Bobcats turned the ball over on downs after a pass fell incomplete giving the Wildcats the ball on their own 38-yard line with 6:48 left. Gartman broke free for a 24 yard run to the Dumas 38-yard line. Woods found MJ Barnes for a nice gain to the Dumas 23-yard line after a holding penalty on the Wildcats where they faced fourth and seven. The Wildcats came out of the time out with a flea flicker play that found a wide open White down the right side of the field only to see the ball just out of reach. The ball went over on downs to Dumas at their own 24-yard line with just under three minutes left in the half. Dumas put together a 76 yard drive that resulted in a touchdown with 47 seconds left in the quarter. The two-point run was good making the score 14-9 Dumas. White returned the kick-off to the Trumann 47-yard line before the Wildcats turned the ball over on downs when Morgan was stopped short on a fourth down try. Woods intercepted the Bobcats' pass to end the half with Dumas holding a 14-9 lead.
