Junior Yellowjackets fall to Manila in semi-finals

Bay couldn't get the stops they needed on the defensive as Manila posted a 50-36 semi-final win over the host team in the Bay Junior High Invitational Tournament this past Thursday.

Manila opened the scoring with a jumper before Aaron Jolly tied the score at two with a base line jumper for Bay. The Junior Lions hit two free throws and added a score inside to go up 6-2 with 2:12 left. Tyler Hartgen canned a three-pointer to make it 6-5 Manila only to see the Junior Lions score the next seven points to take a 13-5 lead after one.

Manila reeled off the first seven points of the second quarter before Paiton Hartley hit a running jumper for Bay to make the score 20-7 Manila with 1:16 left in the first half. Manila added two free throws with 57 seconds left to make the score 22-7 when the half ended.
