Junior Hornets fall in non-conference match-up

Harrisburg was held scoreless in the second quarter digging themselves a hole they couldn't get out of as Palestine-Wheatley beat the Junior Hornets 41-31 this past Friday night in Harrisburg.

The Junior Patriots hit two free throws to take a 2-0 lead before Brennon Honeycutt hit one of two free throws for Harrisburg to make it 2-1. Presley Witt got a basket off an offensive rebound for the Junior Hornets only to see Palestine-Wheatley get a steal and layup to make the score 4-3 Junior Patriots. Sam Massengill got inside for Harrisburg after back to back three-balls from Palestine-Wheatley making it 10-5 before Honeycutt drilled a three-pointer for the Junior Hornets and Ross Heeb hit a base line jumper after an offensive rebound at the buzzer to make it 10-10 after one.

The second quarter started with the Junior Patriots hitting one of two technical free throws for a score book violation on Harrisburg to make the score 11-10 Palestine-Wheatley. The Junior Hornets' offense went dormant after the technical as the Junior Patriots went on an 8-0 run during the remainder of he quarter as Harrisburg was held scoreless giving the visitors a 19-10 lead at the break.
