Hornets move to 5-0 with win over Palestine-Wheatley

Gatlin Greeno scored 26 points to lead Harrisburg (5-0) to a 67-52 over Palestine-Wheatley this past Friday in high school basketball action in Harrisburg.

The Patriots jumped out to a 2-0 lead before Harrisburg got an inside basket from Greeno, an inside basket from Tommy Maloney and a coast to coast lay up from Greeno to go up 6-2. Palestine-Wheatley hit a three-ball to make it 6-5 only to see the Hornets get one of two free throws from Dylan Mathis, two free throws from Greeno and two free throws from Gavin Casebier to make the score 11-5 Harrisburg with 3:03 left. The Patriots cut the lead to 11-7 only to see the Hornets score the last 12 points to go up 23-7. Zach Biggers canned a three-pointer from the right wing, Greeno followed with a three-pointer from the left corner, Casebier hit one of two free throws, Biggers canned another three-ball from the left wing and Malik Versie scored off the fast break with 41 seconds left.

The Patriots got a basket inside to start the second quarter only to see Biggers drill a three-ball from the right corner to make the score 26-9 Harrisburg. Palestine-Wheatley hit a jumper, Casebier scored inside for the Hornets, the Patriots hit another jumper followed by a basket in the paint to make the score 28-15 with just under two minutes left in the first half. Greeno and Walker Brown each hit one of two free throws before the Patriots got a basket inside to make the score 30-17. Greeno was fouled attempting a three-pointer at the buzzer and hit two of three free throws to send the Hornets to the half with a 32-17 lead.
