NE Arkansas fishing report
Ome Coleman at Lake Poinsett said the cold weather has affected the fishing. While cricket sales are down minnows, redworms and nightcrawlers are still in good demand. With the lake still very low, the dam is the best place to launch a boat or fish off the dock.
Boxhound Marina reports they have not seen any fishermen in almost weeks so there is no report from Crown Lake.
Spring River reports the water levels are running at 268 cfs and water clarity is clear. Low and clear water conditions have made for technical conditions on the river. Small nymphs and Woollies have been the go to flies. Hot pink and chartreuse Trout Magnets and silver spinners are working well for spin fishers. John Berry in Cotter said the river is fishing well. Be sure to wear cleated boots and carry a wading staff if you are wade fishing as there is a lot of bedrock that can get very slick. The hot flies have been olive Woolly Buggers with a bit of flash (size 10), cerise and hot pink San Juan worms (size 10) and Y2Ks (size 10).
Triangle Sports continues to hear only poor reports at best on fishing of all species at the White River near Newark. Most of the fishermen are hunting.
