Trumann rolls in hope opener over Hoxie
Trumann jumped out a 22-0 lead over Hoxie before cruising to an 83-33 win in the Wildcats home opener at Wildcat Gym this past Monday.
Cody Roland opened the scoring for Trumann with a basket inside as Kelon Booker followed with one of two free throws and a three-pointer from the left wing to make it 6-0 Wildcats. Jacob Ferguson hit a jumper in the lane for Trumann before Roland scored the next three baskets for the Wildcats to make it 14-0 Trumann. Zach Buchanan got a steal for an easy lay up, Alex Moses scored inside and Buchanan got another easy score off the fast break making it 20-0 Wildcats. Will White scored on a reverse lay up before Hoxie got one of two free throws to make the score 22-1 Trumann with 2:36 left. Ben Turner scored back to back baskets for Trumann as Hoxie scored in the paint making the score 26-3 Trumann. MJ Barnes hit four of six free throws on three straight trips to the line before Turner scored off an offensive rebound to make it 32-3 Wildcats. The Mustangs added a free throws making it 32-4 Trumann after one.
Booker opened the scoring with a basket inside for Trumann as Moses hit two free throws and converted an old-fashioned three-point play to push the Wildcats' lead to 39-4. Hoxie hit two free throws, Dakota Howard canned a three-ball for Trumann before Hoxie drilled a three-pointer making the score 42-9 Wildcats. Aaron Hamilton hit two free throws for Trumann, Hoxie was good on one of two free throws as Roland hit a jumper in the lane to make the score 46-10 Trumann with 4:42 left. The Mustangs hit a jumper and one of two free throws before Issac Haynie hit scored off an offensive rebound for the Wildcats making it 48-13 Trumann. Hoxie scored inside, Turner hit two free throws for Trumann and the Mustangs scored off an offensive rebound to make the score 50-17 Wildcats. Haynie put back another offensive rebound before Hoxie added a free throw giving Trumann a 52-18 lead at the half.
