Wildcats lose at home to Westside

Trumann (4-14) kept it close in the opening quarter holding an 18-16 lead after one before Westside slowly starting pulling away on their way to 74-56 win this past Tuesday night in Trumann.

Westside got on the board first with a three-pointer as Kelon Booker answered with a steal and lay-up for Trumann to make it 3-2 Warriors early in the game. Cody Roland drilled a three-pointer for the Wildcats to make it 5-3 Trumann before Westside scored the next six points to go up 9-5. Ben Turner canned a three-pointer for the Wildcats, the Warriors hit a jumper before Trumann got an inside score from Alex Moses, two free throws from Booker and a three-ball from Turner giving the Wildcats a 15-11 with two minutes left in the quarter. Westside got a steal and lay-up followed by a three-pointer to take 16-15 lead only to see Turner hit his third three-pointer of the quarter to give Trumann an 18-16 lead after one.

The Warriors scored the first seven points of the second quarter to go up 23-18 before Booker got inside for a Trumann basket to make it 23-20 Westside. The Warriors hit one of two free throws and a basket inside as Aaron Hamilton hit a jumper for Trumann to make the score 26-22 Warriors with 2:16 left. Westside ended the quarter same as the opened scoring the last seven points to take a 33-22 lead at the half.
