Junior Lady Wildcats cruise past Harrisburg

Trumann jumped out to a 14-0 lead after one quarter before going on to post a 35-19 win over the Junior Lady Hornets this past Thursday in Harrisburg.

Hannah McClaughlin scored the first five points for Trumann with a three-pointer and a fast break lay-up as Mycha Wilson scored inside to make it 7-0 Junior Lady Wildcats with 3:30 left. Caroline Morgan netted a three-ball for Trumann and then followed with a stick back basket before Kayla Spence scored inside for the Junior Lady Wildcats with just under two minutes left making it 14-0 Trumann. The score stayed the same as the first quarter ended.

Morgan hit a jumper for Trumann to open the second quarter before Kelsey Dixon got Harrisburg on the board with a jumper in the lane to make it 16-2 Junior Lady Wildcats. Dixon got inside for a score as Brooks Faulkner scored down low as Harrisburg cut the lead to 16-6 with 2:22 left. Haley Mathis put back an offensive rebound for Trumann followed by a steal and lay-up from McClaughlin and one of two free throws from Wilson as the Junior Lady Wildcats pushed their lead to 21-6 at the half.
