Junior Lady Indians down EPC in district opener

Marked Tree jumped out to a 17-1 halftime lead over the Junior Lady Warriors before going on beat their conference rival 39-21 in the junior girls' district tournament this past Tuesday in Marked Tree.

The Junior Lady Indians scored all the points in the opening quarter as Shira Hendrix hit one of two free throws before getting a steal and lay-up. Sydney Rothcheid stuck back an offensive rebound for Marked Tree to make it 5-0 at the end of one.

Megan Lowry and MaKayla Marshall each hit one of two free throws early in the second quarter before Hendrix hit two free throws for the Junior Lady Indians to make the score 9-0. Keragan Gordon got EPC on the board with one of two free throws to make it 9-1 only to see Marked Tree close on an 8-0 run making it 17-1. Taylor McCuiston scored inside, Hendrix canned a three-pointer, Marshall hit one of two free throws before getting a stick back basket for the Junior Lady Indians.
