Trumann finished the season with only five wins. Yet in the last couple weeks the team has garnered three wins with the latest punching their ticket to the Class 4A State Tournament to be played in Nashville. Trumann will open against Robinson.

The Wildcats upset the third seed Gosnell Pirates in the opening round of district before being defeated by Cave City in the semi-finals. Trumann regrouped and downed Brookland to earn the third seed out of the 4A-3 conference going to the regional tournament.

Trumann beat Helena-West Helena Central 65-59 in the opening round of the Class 4A East Regional tournament to earn a spot in the state tournament. Trumann led at the end of each quarter, 18-13, 34-31 and 46-40. Cody Roland led Trumann with 21 points as Kelon Booker and Alex Moses added 17 and 12 points respectively. Trumann face Cave City in the semi-finals and were handed a 58-42 loss. The Cavemen led at the end of each quarter, 15-9, 28-19 and 41-37, before outscoring Trumann 17-5 in the final quarter for the win. The Wildcats came back to face conference foe Westside in the third place game and were beaten 72-36 by the Warriors. Roland led Trumann in scoring with 24 points.

The Wildcats will have played their opening round game of the regional tournament when the paper comes out, but with them playing some the best ball they have all year, the PCDT hopes their run of good fortunes continue.
