EPC downs Marked Tree in consolation game
After both having lost in semi-finals, EPC and Marked Tree squared off in the third-place game of the Class 2A North Regional Tournament this past Saturday in Carlisle. EPC used a big fourth quarter to overcome an eight point deficit on their way to a 57-51 win.

Isaiah Taylor opened the scoring for EPC with a three-pointer as Des Barnes hit two free throws for the Warriors to make it 5-0 early in the game. Markel Perry hit a jumper in the lane to get Marked Tree on the board before Taylor drilled another three-pointer for EPC to make it 8-2 Warriors. The Indians cut the lead to 8-7 as Jack Brown got a stick back basket, Nick Andrews hit one of two free throws and Perry netted a jumper. Brown hit a three-ball for the Warriors as Barnes hit a jumper in the lane for EPC to make the score 13-7 at the end of one.
Marked Tree got back to back baskets from Perry and Jack Brown to start the second quarter before Xzavier Reed hit a jumper for EPC and followed with a three-pointer to make the score 18-11 Warriors with 3:05 left. Taylor's jumper in the lane made it 20-11 EPC only to see the Indians get a three-pointer from Tray Brown, one of two free throws from Jack Brown, two free throws from Andrews and a jumper for Kentarius Allen make the score 20-19 EPC at the half.
