The Lady Patriots took advantage of a walk, hit batter and an error to plate a run in the top of the first inning to take an early 1-0 lead. Ally Byers tripled to lead off for Marked Tree in the bottom of the first and scored on a ground out by Tiana Morris to tie the game at 1. Daniels was hit by a pitch as courtesy runner Nayasha Moore was left stranded with Cam Willoughby striking out and Bailey Dunn forcing Moore at second on a fielder's choice. Palestine-Wheatley went down in order in the top of the second inning as Taylor Hannah led off the bottom of the inning with an infield single for the Lady Indians. Brittany Pharis reached on an error as Dejania Thomas was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Angel Barnes stuck out before Byers reached on a fielder's choice that scored Hannah to make it 2-1 Marked Tree. Morris struck out to end the inning.
