Wildcats hang on for 4-3 win over Hoxie

Trumann (5-13) kept the Mustangs off the board over the last two innings to hang on for a thrilling 4-3 win this past Friday in Trumann. The game also matched brother against brother as Jason Dahl coaches the Wildcats as brother Adam Dahl coaches the Mustangs.

The Mustangs got a two-out hit only to leave the runner stranded at first in the top of the first inning. Trumann took the early lead as Will White reached on an error before stealing second base and going to third as the ball got past the fielder. Blake Liles struck out before Garrett Woods singled to plate Will White making it 1-0 Trumann. Jackson Walton and Jesse Penter had back to back singled only to be stranded on base after Rafe Samuel popped out. Hoxie got a lead-off walk who worked his way around the bases and scored on a passed ball before Woods struck out the next three batters with the score 1-1. The Wildcats went three up and three down as Jake Robert grounded out leading off, Koltan Jones struck out and Gary White flew out keeping the score 1-1 after two innings.
