Harrisburg (17-8) finished as runner up in the 4A-3 district tournament as the lost 10-0 to Westside in the finals. The Hornets, who set a new school record for wins in a season, got to the finals with a 2-1 win over Highland on Jaxson Hawkins' walk-off single. In the Highland game, Hawkins finished with two hits and a RBI as Lance McGinnis had a hit and a RBI. Walker Brown and Jordan Hindman each had a hit and a run scored, Dylan Mathis had two hits as Chris Wiggington and Brady Castle both had a hit for the Hornets. Hindman started on the mound and went six innings while giving up one run on seven hits with one walk and four strikeouts. Hawkins got the win in relief as he pitched one inning with one strikeout. Against Westside, Harrisburg only managed to get a hit each from Hawkins and Wiggington. Biggers took the loss as he pitched one and two thirds innings giving up six runs on five hits with three walks. Hawkins pitched two and two thirds innings as he gave up four runs on five hits with five walks. The Hornets will be the second seed in the 4A East regional tournament at Trumann and will play Heber Springs at 12:30 pm.
The Marked Tree Lady Indians' (8-16) season came to an end in the opening round of the 2A-2 district tournament with a 6-3 loss to Salem last Thursday in Marked Tree. Harley Daniels led the Lady Indians at the plate with two hits, a run scored and two RBIs as Ally Byers had two hits and a run scored. Taylor Hannah had a hit and a RBI, Tiana Morris and Angel Barnes each had a hit and Brittany Pharis scored a run.
