Lady Warriors lose 7-1 to Bison in state tournament

EPC (22-9) fell behind early and could never catch up as Rison ended the Lady Warriors' season with a 7-1 win this past Friday in the Class 2A state softball tournament in Lepanto.

The Lady Wildcats used two errors, a hit and two walks to plate three runs in the the top of the first inning to take the early lead over EPC. Bailey Constant grounded out leading off for the Lady Warriors as Meagan Allen struck out. Sarah Tacker singled before Jordyn Brewer drew walk. Both runners were left stranded when Madison Wiggins watched strike three go by to end the inning with Rison up 3-0. The Lady Wildcats went down in order in the top of the second. Jaleigha Garrett popped out leading off the bottom half as Ramissa Acosta coaxed a walk. Bre Ward struck out and Kurstin Bryan grounded out as the score stayed 3-0 Lady Wildcats after two.
