TRUMANN - Mr. Vernon Davis, 87, departed this life Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Ark. He was born in Manila, Ark., and had lived in Trumann for the past 60 years. He was a farmer, former employee of the Singer Company and a member of the Central Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one son, Tommy Gene Davis; one daughter, Shelia Coke and his parents, William Orville “W.O.” and Minnie Marie Davidson Davis.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Rosemary Teague Davis of the home; one daughter, Rose Ann Hatcher and husband Bob of Trumann; one son, Tim Davis and wife Debbye of Trumann; one sister, Lillian Mae Miller of Cuba, Ill..; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held September 5th in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann, with Rev. Larry Loggins officiating. Burial followed at Unity Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ark.
Pallbearers were Jerry Hunt, Bob Hatcher, William Grady, Carma Mor Tiner, Christian Hatcher, Matt London, Jason Coke and Slayton Tiner.
