Several fundraisers set for Stars and Stripes

Tyronza's Stars and Stripes committee has several upcoming fundraisers to raise money for the annual festival.

The Tyronza Stars and Stripes committee will be hosting a ningo/dessert night on Tuesday, Sept. 19. It will start at 6 p.m. and end at 8 p.m. at the Tyronza Senior Center, located at 135 S. Main Street. The cost to play Bingo will be $1 per card, and the cost for a dessert and drink is $3. There will be prizes to win for bingo.

The Stars and Stripes committee is also selling Boston butts that will be ready for pick up on Friday, Oct. 13 at 6 p.m. The cost to purchase a Boston butt is $35, and anyone interested can call the Tyronza City Hall to place an order.

On Saturday Oct. 14, the city will have its Fall City Wide Yard Sale. There will be booths available to rent for $10 at the downtown park, or residents can have yard sales at their homes and have their location put on the City Wide Yard Sale map for $10.

On Sunday, Oct. 29, Tyronza Stars and Stripes will be having a chicken and dressing lunch at the Tyronza Senior Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. They will be serving chicken and dressing, mashed potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, gravy, dessert and drink. The cost $10 per plate. If anyone would like to purchase a ticket, they can call the Tyronza City Hall at 870-487-2168. This fundraiser is to help bring the Blue Grass Gospel Group "The Purple Hulls" to the Stars and Stripes festival.
