Trumann and Pocahontas both entered the game at 3-0 as turnovers proved to be the difference as the Junior Redskins downed the Junior Wildcats (3-1, 0-1) 40-22 in junior high football action last Friday at Schoonover Field in Pocahontas.

Pocahontas received the ball to open the game as the kick-off went out of bounds giving the ball to the Junior Redskins on the Trumann 42-yard line. Pocahontas wasted little time as they found the end zone on a 58 yard run to make it 6-0 with 7:48 left. The two-point pass was incomplete. The Junior Wildcats used a slow paced running offense to use over five minutes of the clock as Gaven Guy scored from two yards out to tie the game at 6. Guy ran in the two-point conversion to make it 8-6 Trumann with 1:44 left. The Junior Redskins recovered the ensuing onside kick at their own 49-yard and moved it to the Trumann four-yard line as the first quarter came to a close with Trumann leading 8-6.
