Slow start costly for Junior Hornets

Harrisburg was held scoreless in the opening quarter and could never recover as Westside rolled to a 52-14 win this past Thursday in Jonesboro.

The Junior Warriors jumped out to a 7-0 with 2:14 left. Harrisburg's Jacob Wallace missed two free throws before Westside reeled off another seven points to take a 14-0 lead after one quarter of play.

Samuel Moore canned a three-pointer for the Junior Hornets to make it 14-3 as Westside answered with a three-ball. Moore scored on a fast break lay-up making it 17-5. The Junior Warriors scored the next nine points to make it 26-5 before Keaton Speer put back an offensive rebound for Harrisburg to make the score 26-7 with 1:12 left in the half. Westside added five more points to make the score 31-7 Junior Warriors at the half.
