Trumann lost a hearbreaker at Brookland this past Tuesday night as the Bearcats hit a free throw with 1.5 seconds left to win 44-43. Ben Turner led the Wildcats in scoring with 19 points as Cody Roland tossed in 12 points. The Junior Wildcats also fell to the Junior Bearcats by a score of 40-26 as Azani Smith had 12 points for Trumann.
Bay had four players in double digits but it wasn't enough as the Yellowjackets fell 60-54 to BIC this past Tuesday night at Bay. Slade Grove scored 14 points to lead Bay as Dax Gibson and Aaron Jolly had 12 points each with Josh Willard adding 10 points.
The Lady Wildcats traveled to Highland this past Friday and were handed a 54-43 loss by the host team. Kayla Spence scored 15 points to lead Trumann as Mycha Wilson added 10 points. The Junior Lady Wildcats lost 63-56 despite 29 points from Kayde Jones.
Marked Tree got 21 points from Colby Malone as the Indians cruised past Cross County 52-33 this past Friday in basketball action in Marked Tree. Markel Perry added eight points and nine rebounds in the win. The Junior Indians were also victorious as Itavious Nesbitt and Aayden Johnson each scored 13 points in the 42-31 win.
Cassie Armstrong poured in 29 points to lead Harrisburg to a 64-34 win over Westside last Thursday at Westside. Abby Edwards added 11 points and seven steals for the Lady Hornets. Westside won the junior high contest.
