Junior Warriors hang on for win over Bay

EPC almost let a seven point lead slip away in the second half at Bay as the Junior Warriors held on for a 35-32 win over the Junior Yellowjackets this past Friday.

Preston Rains gave EPC the early 1-0 lead with one of two free throws as Paiton Hartley hit a runner in the lane for Bay to make it 2-1 Junior 'Jackets. Deuce Moore hit a jumper for the Junior Warriors, Hartley canned a three-pointer for Bay before EPC scored the next six points with Rains hitting one of two free throws, Josh Gilmore getting a stick back basket, Rains scoring off the break before adding one of two free throws to make the score 9-5 Junior Warriors with 2:34 left. Tyler Fraley drilled a three-pointer for Bay as Rains scored inside late in the quarter for EPC to make the score 11-8 EPC after one quarter of play.

The second quarter was a low scoring affair as Gavin Constant scored the first point almost two minutes in when he hit one of two free throws for EPC making it 12-10. Braydon Smith scored inside for Bay before Constant hit one of two free throws again for the Junior Warriors to make the score 13-10 EPC with 3:30 left. Jeffery Walkers drilled a three-ball from the top of the key for Bay to tie the game at 13 only to see JaMario Burrus hit one of two free throws for EPC as Gilmore hit a jumper for the Junior Warriors to make it 16-13 EPC at the half.
