Big fourth quarter propels Lady Wildcats to win at Kell

Leading by one after three quarters of play, Trumann outscored Westside 18-11 in the fourth quarter to take a 43-35 win over the Lady Warriors in the opening round of the Kell Classic this past Saturday in Swifton.

Trumann jumped out to a 5-0 lead as Olivia Greenwell hit a three-pointer and Tay Smith scored inside before Westside made back to back baskets to make it 5-4. Kayla Spence hit a jumper as the Lady Warriors canned a three-ball to make it 7-7 with 1:50 left in the quarter. Anna Waleszonia hit a jumper for the Lady Wildcats, Westside hit a three-pointer before Selena Lopez scored inside with 26 seconds left for Trumann to give her team an 11-10 lead after one.

Spence pushed Trumann's lead to 13-10 with a jumper early in the second quarter as Westside hit two free throws to make it 13-12. The Lady Wildcats score the next six points as Smith scored inside, Daly Taylor hit a jumper and Smith got inside for another basket to make it 19-12 Trumann with 2:48 left. The Lady Warriors hit a jumper late to make the score 19-14 Lady Wildcats at the half.
