Junior Lady Hornets drop home game to Gosnell

Harrisburg could never recover from a slow first quarter as the Junior Lady Hornets fell 31-15 to Gosnell this past Thursday in junior high basketball action at the Hornet's Nest.

Gosnell scored their first points, a conventional three-point play, with almost two minutes gone in the game for a 2-0 lead and didn't score again until almost two minutes later to make it 5-0 Gosnell. The Junior Lady Pirates added six more points over the next two minutes to take an 11-0 lead after the first quarter.

The Junior Lady Pirates stretched the lead to 14-0 with a three-pointer to open the second quarter before Nala Wallace hit one of two free throws for Harrisburg to make it 14-1 Gosnell. The Junior Lady Pirates hit one of two free throws as the Junior Lady Hornets got back to back three-pointers from Gretchen Morgan making it 15-7 Gosnell with 2:10 left. The Junior Lady Pirates made it 16-7 with one of two free throws before Khalan Jones hit a jumper in the lane for Harrisburg to make the score 16-9 in favor of the visitors. Gosnell added one of two free throws as Kayleigh Robinson scored inside for Harrisburg late in the quarter to make it 17-11 at the half.
