Mrs. Shirley Baker, 77, of Harrisburg departed this life on Friday, January 19, 2018 at the family residence in Harrisburg, Ark. She was born Wednesday, December 11, 1940 in Jonesboro to the late Lynn and Ethel Thrasher Williams and lived most of her lifetime in Harrisburg. She was a housewife and of the Baptist faith. She loved being around her children, grandkids, and great-grandkids. Mrs. Baker loved watching wrestling and her favorite wrestler was Jerry “The King” Lawler. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Baker; granddaughter, Stacey Webb; one brother, Joe Williams; one sister, Joyce Baker and her parents, Lynn and Ethel Thrasher Williams.
Mrs. Baker is survived by three daughters, Pam McPherson of Harrisburg, Teresa Bass of Trumann and Brenda Sparks of Harrisburg; one brother, Jimmy Williams and wife Geneva and brother-in-law, Earl Baker; seven grandchildren, Kristy Smith, Eric Smith, Amy Waggoner, Kim McPherson, Jeffrey Sparks, Jennifer Sparks and Jessica Sparks; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and one nephew.
Funeral services were held January 22 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. Harles Banks officiating. Burial followed in Pine Hill Cemetery in Jonesboro.
Pallbearers were Cameron Blagg, Cody Blagg, Eric Smith, Mark Webb, Christopher Webb, and Eddie Baker.
