Lady Yellowjackets roll past Marked Tree

Bay hit 15 three-pointers on their way to a 70-24 win over Marked Tree this past Friday night in girls basketball action in Bay.

The Lady 'Jackets started the game with a 15-0 run as Mallory Hartley started it with a steal and lay up, Kaylee Crain got a stick back basket, Sarah Blackman hit one of two free throws as she followed with a jumper, a three-pointer and a steal and layup to make it 12-0. Olivia Ferguson canned a three-pointer before Sydney Rotscheid hit two free throws for the Lady Indians to make it 15-2 Bay with 2:34 left. Bay ended the quarter on a 10-0 run as Blackman drilled a three-pointer as Hartley scored the last seven points with a stick back basket, three of four free throws on consecutive trips to the line and a fast break layup to make the score 25-2 Lady Yellowjackets at the end of one.

Rotscheid opened the second quarter scoring with a three-pointer for Marked Tree only to see Bay answer with back to back three-pointers from Bailee Kirby and Shelby Corn to make it 31-5 Lady 'Jackets with just over two minutes gone in the quarter. CJ Barnes hit one of two free throws for the Lady Indians as Ferguson canned back to back three-pointers for Bay to make it 37-6 Lady Yellowjackets. Neither team could get a shot to fall over the last two minutes of the quarter.
