Trumann cruises to win over Gosnell

Trumann scored the first basket of game and the last basket of the game as the Wildcats cruised to a 75-55 win over Gosnell last Thursday in basketball action in Trumann.

Jacob Ferguson put Trumann on the board with a three-pointer early in the game as Gosnell scored inside to make it 3-2 Wildcats. Alex Moses hit one of two free throws for the Wildcats, the Pirates hit a jumper, Cody Roland hit two free throws before Gosnell hit a jumper in the lane to make it 6-6. Ben Turner hit one of three free throws after being fouled shooting a three-pointer, Gosnell hit one of two free throws as MJ Barnes and Roland hit back to back three-balls for the Wildcats to make the score 13-7 Trumann with 2:40 left. Gosnell scored six straight points to tie the game at 13 only to see Moses and Barnes score back to back baskets to give the Wildcats a 17-13 lead at the end of one.

Turner scored inside for Trumann as the Pirates hit two free throws and a baseline jumper to make the score 19-17 Wildcats. The Wildcats scored eight straight points as Roland got a stick back basket, Turner scored inside, Moses hit two free throws before Barnes hit a jumper in the lane to make it 27-17 Trumann with 4:46 left. Gosnell got a stick back basket, Turner slammed one off an alley-oop as the Pirates got another stick back to make it 29-21 Trumann. The Wildcats got two of three free throws from Turner after being fouled again attempting a three-ball, a stick back from Roland and one of two free throws from Barnes before Gosnell hit one of two free throws to make it 34-22 Trumann. Roland netted a three-ball as the Pirates scored inside to make the score 37-24 at the half.
