Junior Lady Indians fall in district finals

Marked Tree and Earle battle all night long as the Junior Lady Indians came up just short of the win as they lost 47-44 to the Junior Lady Bulldogs this past Friday in Earle.

Earle jumped out to 4-0 lead before Shira Hendrix scored inside to make it 4-2 Junior Lady Bulldogs. Earle scored inside as Marked Tree got two free throws from Bri Washington and a basket inside from Taylor McCuiston to tie the game at six with 1:36 left. Earle scored the next five points, McCuiston hit one of two free throws and MaKayla Marshall hit a jumper in the lane before the Junior Lady Bulldogs hit a three-pointer with two seconds left making it 14-9 Earle at the end of one.

The Junior Lady Bulldogs scored back to back baskets to stretch their lead to 18-9 as Hendrix hit two free throws for Marked Tree making it 18-11. Earle scored inside, Daija Allen hit two free throws for the Junior Lady Indians, the Junior Lady Bulldogs scored in the paint as McCuiston hit two free throws for Marked Tree to make it 22-15 Earle with 1:21 left. Earle hit one of two free throws before Marked Tree got a jumper form Marshall, two free throws from McCuiston and a three-ball from Hendrix to make it 23-22 Junior Lady Bulldogs at the half.
