LEPANTO - Johnny Smith Hendrix, 79, died April 3, 2018 at NEA Hospital in Jonesboro, Ark. He was a farm worker and of the Pentecostal faith. Mr. Hendrix was born May 5, 1939 in Florence, Ala., to John Ham and Ida Brown Hendrix. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Stacy Hendrix; two brothers, Lonnie Hendrix and James Wheeler Hendrix; three sisters, Mattie McWilliams, Lizzie Travis and Thelma Wood. He is survived by four sons, Johnny Hendrix, Jr., Ray Hendrix, Howard Hendrix and Freddie Hendrix of Lepanto; one daughter, Brenda Fisher of Lepanto; one sister, Hattie Groom of Fort Meade, Fla.; ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services were held April 6 at Wilson Funeral Home in Tyronza, Ark. Burial followed at Potter Cemetery in Lepanto with Bro. Danny Wilson officiating under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home.
